Welcome to the
Hamantaschen
Monologues

We're going to fill you in on a lil secret: our favorite Purim snack, the Hamantaschen, is not based on Haman’s ears or hat but is actually historically associated with sex, sexuality, and bodies. That’s right, this WHOLE time when you were noshin' on ‘tashin you’ve been salivating over Judaism’s most sultry secret. While there are times when our 5,000-year-old tradition may be prudish, Purim most definitely is NOT then. It’s a time to masquerade, to unveil, to expose, and to give light to true selves and true stories. Enters The Hamantaschen Monologues!

HamMons is a live storytelling initiative focusing on personal relationships to Judaism, sex, bodies, and sexuality. Since 2021, we've brought together over 33 storytellers and 650+ listeners from all over the world to embrace the tenderness, messiness, humor, and authenticity that is the Hamantaschen Monologues.

For our fifth year, we’re expanding beyond the stage and into your ears with The Hamantaschen Monologues Podcast! For the first time ever, we’re bringing some of our unforgettable stories, brand-new interviews, and community voices to a wider audience, so you can take HamMons with you wherever you are. Season 1 drops March 13, 2025, on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

We’re also launching Hamantaschen Homegrown, an intimate, grassroots model that brings the magic of HamMons to communities anywhere. Our first Homegrown pop-up lands in Brooklyn on May 4, so stay tuned for how to join us in NY and how to bring Hamantaschen Homegrown to you!

The Hamantaschen Monologues is the brain and heart-child of two dear friends, Rachel & Molly. The team is growing, bringing together some very passionate and talented souls to expand the Hamantaschen circle. Want to get involved?

What Our Listeners Said

"I loved how raw and honest these stories were. The connection between sexuality and Judaism was a great idea. You guys did an incredible job. Thank you for bringing us all together virtually."
